Originally from Mississippi, Jerry Dye was one of the founders of the Comedy Womb, and following a move to Los Angeles, he became a regular on The Big Show and a contributing writer for the Redd Foxx sitcom Sanford and Son. Dye has opened for some of the Blue Collar Comedy comedians and appeared with Ron White on Truckstop Comedy albums. (Courtesy of Bill Brady; photograph by William Cramp.)

While many Chicago comedians left town (and stand-up comedy in general) for Hollywood, Paul Kelly remained true to his stand-up roots, headlining clubs throughout the United States and Canada after starting to do comedy in 1975. Representing the Barrel of Laughs, Kelly won the first WGN Comedy Bowl contest, and he has appeared on An Evening at the Improv and Comedy on the Road, among other shows.
