If we’re to be on the cutting edge of what God is doing in this hour, if we want to be those who will be manifesting His Presence throughout the earth, we have to allow everything we have ever thought, hoped, believed, or felt to be placed on the altar of God. This does not necessarily mean that God will sacrifice it all. All too frequently, however, people consider God to be their spiritual smorgasbord—they can pick and choose whatever they want from God. The truth is, however, that we are His smorgasbord—we are to be laid upon the altar where He can pick and choose what He wants of us! There are many folks who are excited about being on the cutting edge of what God is doing. Many want to be in the center of God’s will and be found doing what is pleasing to Him. But few folks realize that to be on the cutting edge of what God is doing means that God has to be on the cutting edge of our hearts. We have to allow Him to cut and mold and make us into His image and into His likeness. That’s what the cutting edge is all about. God’s cutting edge is at work in my life (Manifest Presence, 106).
