Create Daily Plans

Once the team has established unit plans and written the common assessments (see chapter 5, page 79), teachers can make their day-to-day plans (see chapter 6, page 113). Teams may want to account for assessment and review days and even plan ahead for flex days to leave open to re-engage students in learning as necessary. For example, if a unit is twenty days and teams take two days for common assessments, one day to review for the summative assessment, and two days for flex days, the team now has fifteen days for quality core instruction. Within those parameters is the loose aspect of collaborative teams; teachers may create their own daily lesson plans, all with a focus on students learning the identified standards, especially the priority standards.
