Sersan slept later than she normally did. She had cried herself to sleep over her and Ronin’s fight, or whatever that had been. This situation was unfortunately showing her a lot about what the future might be if they pursued a relationship. They had big trust issues, Ronin was keeping secrets, and when she questioned him, he shut her out. Hardly an auspicious start.
She groaned when her phone rang. She wasn’t up for talking to anyone at that moment, but it kept ringing. She reached for it to answer. “Hello.”
“Good, you’re up. You need to come to the café on the lobby level in an hour. The two malesss from Lepta will meet usss there,” Esan told her.
“Fine.” She hung up and threw her head down on her pillow.
She didn’t want to go meet Leptan males. She didn’t want to let her brother control her life like this. Most importantly, she didn’t want to lose Ronin.
“Fuck. What have I gotten myssself into?”
She dragged herself out of the bed, wishing she had stood up to her brother and refused to even meet with these guys. Her brother couldn’t understand that Leptans viewed her differently than him. Esan was easily accepted on Lepta, but they looked at her like she was a freak of nature. It was kind of how most humans viewed her, too. Esan wanted her to be a good little mate to a Leptan and have little Leptan babies. That was not going to happen. Even if she thought she could get pregnant with a Leptan, she would never submit to a male like that. Leptans wanted their females to give up their whole lives to serve their every want and need. Sersan was not submissive at all. Except with Ronin. She found that she could happily submit to his every want and need.
She took a quick shower and put on a pair of jeans and a light blue halter-top. She didn’t do much to her hair but let it dry naturally and a little curly. She didn’t put on any makeup, as she had when she went to the charity event. She wasn’t trying to impress anyone and this definitely wasn’t a date of any kind.
She walked to the door and paused. For a moment she thought about calling Ronin, but figured he was probably at training. They needed this time to cool off and think about their relationship. If they were going to go further, he needed to tell her the truth. She left.

Ronin punched the bag hard, making it swing back. He imagined it was Esan that he was hitting. What kind of male forced his sister to date other males? He was also angry with Sersan, if he was going to be honest. She should have refused. After the incredible night they shared, he thought that they were on the same page about being together. She acted like she didn’t trust him.
He sssaid that you had sssecretsss. The truth was, he did have something he was keeping from her and everyone else.
