The healers finished their work on Largon by the time Ronan and Tolvex returned to the med bay. Ronan was pleased to see his friend’s color seemed healthier and his face no longer stressed from pain.

Healer Rivezt said, “Ronan, it is good to meet you in person. Thank you for keeping Natasha safe. Your friend, Largon, is sedated. We healed the internal bleeding, which was the worst injury, as well as all his broken bones, cuts, and bruises. He took quite a beating, but he will be fine. He’s a strong male.”

Relieved, Ronan said, “How long before Largon awakes?”

“I want to keep him sedated until the morning to reduce his pain while everything heals fully.”

“Thank you all for everything you’ve done. Not just with Largon, but with the younglings and the disease, too.”

“We are happy to assist.” Rivezt paused. “We think we have a viable vaccine for the measles variant. At some point, I’d like to draw your blood and run simulations to see if you require it.” He glanced at Largon. “When your friend wakes, I would like to ask him if he would allow us to test him as well.”

“You can take a sample from me now.” Ronan held out his arm.

“Where are the younglings?” asked Tolvex as Rivezt took a blood sample from Ronan.

“Natasha is still with Teeka. Your warriors and Lady Ava took the others to the dining area to eat and relax. Have you decided where to give them quarters?” Rivezt said.

“d’Olorg, how do you suggest we divide them? All the males in one room, females in another? Half and half? By age? You know them best and we want them to be comfortable,” Tolvex said. “I want to keep them in the senior officers' residential area for their safety. The rooms have large beds, as well as two big couches. We can fabricate some cots as well.”

“Lady Ava suggested Teeka room with her initially. I have to ask Natasha what she thinks would be best for the female,” Rivezt said. “Lady Ava also said if it were necessary, Lady Rachel would give up her quarters to stay with Lady Ava.”

Ronan said, “I think the younglings would be more comfortable with males together and females together, even in cramped quarters. Their numbers are close to equal and there are a couple older ones of each who are responsible enough to watch over the littler ones. Separating them from each other would make it more difficult for them to adjust.”

“The two rooms next to mine would work,” said Tolvex. “d’Olorg and Largon can use the one on the other side of them.” I’m hoping to stay with Natasha, if she’ll let me. “Why don’t we go look at them now and you can tell me whether we should fabricate cots for them? They’ll also need clothes.”

“I’m sure they’ll be fine with whatever is there,” said Ronan. “You don’t need to go to any extra trouble.”

Tolvex’s teal eyes met Ronan’s. “They are our guests who have been through a traumatizing experience.
