Mt. Shavano (14,229 feet, right peak) and Tabeguache Peak (14,155 feet, left peak) are visible to the northeast of Taylor Mountain. Sitting just east of the Continental Divide, Mt. Shavano and Tabegauche Peak loom over the town of Salida.
Famous for the âAngel of Shavano,â (a snow formation on the east face of Mt. Shavano, in which the image of an angel can be seen, in most years, from late fall through early summer), Mt. Shavano is the seventeenth-highest peak in Colorado.
