CHAPTER 11
Augusta was seriously not impressed as the group of humans escorting her to the awful leader of theirs that called herself Queen, led her into their headquarters.
It was hardly a headquarters to be honest and Augusta was so looking forward to escaping from here. This was a really bad idea after all.
The headquarters was on an oval-shaped island covered in thick palm trees with golden, red and blue flowers blowing in the warm wind and there were tons of humans wrapped up in orange robes. And all of them had their faces wrapped up even tighter in orange cloth.
That was just strange and Augusta really hated these humans more than anything in the entire world. It was so unnatural not to see the face of another human, but they all stopped what they were doing on the island and came towards her.
Augusta was still relieved they had allowed her to keep her sword but she forced herself not to reach for it. She had a weird feeling that she wasnât in danger yet.
Tens upon tens of orange robed humans lined up to create a perfect path for Augusta towards a large white tent made from the finest silk. But then she realised that it wasnât silk at all.
It was elven skin.
Augusta gulped as she felt a gentle touch on her lower back that pushed her onwards.
Augusta kept walking and she went inside the white silk tent and there was nothing inside it except a bronze throne with a woman sitting on it, three elven slaves and a cross with fresh blood on it.
The woman on the throne was completely naked with tribal markings painted on her skin and she just looked at Augusta like she was nothing more than a mere object of curiosity, like how a cat might look at a piece of string before attacking it.
âQueen Augusta of Octogi, Lordigo and Longmano. The Emperor warned me about you but he did not expect you to be here so quickly,â the woman said.
Augusta wanted to look away from the body because her lady features were basically eye-level because of the throneâs height but Augustaâs damn regal training forced her to keep looking.
âI am not your enemy but I plead with you to stop this hunt for Jasper. If you surrender now and free the elves then you can be free of Jasperâs influence,â Augusta said.
The woman laughed and she swirled her hand.
Moments later five orange-robed men walked into the tent and they started undoing their robes and when they dropped Augusta was expecting to see more naked bodies but she didnât.
All she saw was dust crumble away and she instantly knew that all these humans had been turned to dust and it was only the robes and wrappings that contained their soul or life force or whatever people called it.
âJasper has control of us whatever happens. You are a threat to us and if I fail then the Emperor will turn me into one of those mindless drones,â the woman said.
