15 – The Morning After

Seeing the rays of the sun stream in although the curtains were drawn, Julie snuggled closer to the warm male body in her bed. She wasn’t dreaming. No, it had really happened. Carter had made love to her, several times in fact. And it had been everything she’d hoped for and more. He’d been tender and passionate at the same time. As well as considerate. She’d learned more about her own body in one night than in the twenty years prior. It had been worth waiting and not losing her virginity to just anybody.

Julie couldn’t remember when she’d finally fallen asleep, her entire body relaxed and boneless. Carter had pulled her into his arms and she’d molded herself into the curve of his body, loving the feel of him spooning her, engulfing her in a protective cocoon. She wanted every night to be like this even though she had no idea how she would ever get any studying done if he spent every night with her.

Oh Julie, oh Julie, she scolded herself softly, you shouldn’t get ahead of yourself. Who knows if he even wants to spend that much time with you.

Julie inhaled Carter’s scent and sighed contentedly.

“So, you’re awake then,” Carter murmured softly in her ear.

She turned in his arms to look at him. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“You didn’t. I’ve been up for a while.”

Was this where he told her that he had to leave, and couldn’t commit to when she’d see him again? She dreaded that moment.

“You’re an early riser,” she said, deflecting from her worries.

“You call 10 a.m. early?” He chuckled.

Julie shot up to sit. “What? 10 a.m.?” Her gaze shot to the clock on her nightstand.

Carter was right, it was past 10 a.m.

“Jesus, I can’t believe I slept that long. I never sleep in.”

“It’s Saturday,” Carter said and pulled her down to him. He gave her a charming grin, and his eyes sparkled with mischief. “May I introduce you to my favorite morning activity?”

He pressed her to him, so she could feel his hard-on.

Heat suffused her cheeks. Carter still wanted her, and showed no signs of wanting to leave her bed.

“How about I’ll continue being your tutor and teach you how to ride me?” he coaxed, pulling her on top of him.

“Oh fuck!” she cursed, Carter’s words having triggered her memory. “I’ve got an eleven o’clock appointment with one of my professors.” And she couldn’t blow it off, because she needed a glowing recommendation letter from Professor Seymour to get into MIT.

“Can’t you just postpone it?”

She let out a sigh of regret. “Unfortunately not. It won’t take long, though. Probably about an hour, and then I have to go to the bookstore to pick up the books I ordered.” Suddenly even more things from her to-do list came to mind. “Oh, crap. And then I need to get my computer fixed, and they close at three today, and they won’t be open tomorrow… and I
