“Yasuko, we have no gift. If this is to go well, we must provide something as a show of respect,” stated Finn over his radio. The army had taught him how to develop community relations and he was kicking himself for not thinking of it earlier.

“I’m not sure what we have.”

Zuri cut in from the ship. “Is that cloak what I think it is, are all those data plaques stuck and sewn together?”

“Yes,” answered Yasuko, “though they are all dead, just ghosts with no charge. I absorbed all of those recovered from the Orbital Station and the broken ship. I can make more but it will take too much time. We have Xxar’s, but I promised him we would find a suitable place for it.”

“Can we let them have a child? Even though it’s a copy.”

“It’s not giving them a child, he lied knowing I wouldn’t be able to tell you unless you asked, worried you wouldn’t agree. It’s an earlier copy of Xxar before he went mad. Before the genocide. He wants to come back without the guilt.” Bitterness oozed from Yasuko’s words. “But I have to leave it somewhere safe with the potential for him to study.”

“Nothing safer than amongst his own people, and if we get the SeedShip, he can help teach them. Win, win.”

“There is no wonder you humans get in so much trouble.”

“It’s a talent.”
