Chapter 6

Knox

Love is a burning thing. And it makes a fiery ring. Bound by wild desire, I fell into a ring of fire. — Johnny Cash, ‘Ring of Fire’

As usual, I’m up before my alarm goes off. It dawns on me that I no longer spend my early morning hours staring at the ceiling, haunted by images of the past. Instead, images of Ginger fills my mind.

And boy, does she fill it.

Her curves are all I can think of, all I want to think of. I woke up from a dream of running my hands over her gorgeous breasts to the aching throb of morning wood. Harder than I’d been in a decade at least. Without a thought I wrap my hands around myself, closing my eyes and picturing her hands and mouth instead of mine.

Ginger’s big green eyes look up at me, her piercings flashing in my mind’s eye as I picture her sinking to her knees in front of me, working her lips up one side of my cock and down the other. Somehow I know exactly how this girl would suck my cock. A slow tease followed by a deep, forceful worshipping that makes my balls tighten and ache to empty.

I want you to be my first.

It takes a startlingly short amount of time to come with Ginger on my mind. Her eyes seem to draw me in, and the thought of her luscious lips stretched around the head of my cock is enough to make my cock erupt in my hands. I climax with a groan, the fantasy fleeing from the forefront of my thoughts as the alarm begins to go off.

I wipe my hands on the sheets and head to the shower, covered in sweat and soaked in desire. It’s probably a good thing, doing this now. Taking the edge off of my insatiable desire for the blonde baker that I’m falling for.

No sense in pushing the thought away anymore. I’ve been head over heels for Ginger since I walked into her smoke-covered bakery for the first time. Every minute I spend with her is better than the last, every hour I spend away from her is torture. Today is the last day before her big magazine interview, the last chance to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. I promised I’d be there to make sure everything goes off without a hitch, and I intend to keep that promise. And every other promise I ever make to her.

Breakfast is the last of the cake Ginger sent me home with. Pulling the leftovers out of the fridge, I can’t help but laugh. She took extra care with the decorations, covering the entire top of the decadent chocolate cake with a layer of creamy ganache— what I came to find out was just a fancy term for melted chocolate and heavy cream. But what really got me were the spiders. Big, goofy things; she’d even taken care to give them gap-toothed smiles and googly cross-eyes. Every nibble of their delectable chocolate legs makes my own smile grow by three sizes at least.
