CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

I DROPPED THE phone to the floor and slid down, sitting with my back to the wall. I held back the tears as I struggled with what had happened. Burying my face in my hands, I wondered how could I have misjudged the situation so badly? I truly felt like we had something. I knew something was up when he didn’t call or answer his phone in my gut. That’s why I did a video call; I wanted to see his face.

This was all my fault. I knew better than to get involved with a biker, and I let Scott, no Fuse, get close to me. They are all the same. Nothing but a bunch of womanizing man whores. At least I found out now, not when I was in deeper. Because I was headed that way, I cared for him, and this hurt.

The door opened, and Gabe, the band's drummer, walked in. Looking at me, he bent down, “Are you okay, Shay?”

“I’m fine. I just got off the phone and was getting ready to come out.” Lifting myself off the floor.

“Here, these were outside the door; the card has your name on it.” He handed me a bouquet of flowers.

I took the flowers, reading the card: Leave town or the next flowers you receive will be for your grave.

What the hell is going on? I wasn’t in the mood for this shit right now. Whoever this bitch was that wanted Fuse so fucking bad could have his cheating ass. Throwing the flowers in the trash, I headed out to finish the show.

Once the show was over, I headed backstage to pack up; the music had calmed me to a point the hurt was turning to anger. Fuse knew how I felt about cheating, and he played me for a fool. I deserved it for giving in to him, asshole.

I saw Viking heading toward me. The guy was intimidating, and he was so frigging big, and his ice-blue eyes were cold. I see where he got the road name Viking.

“You heading home, Shay?” He asked in a low, deep voice that matched his big body.

“Yea, I’m taking off now. I’m pretty tired tonight.” Tired and depressed, I just wanted a shower and sleep.

“Make sure you go straight to the clubhouse; check in with someone when you get there.”

“Okay, I will.” I answered him.

He turned and walked away without another word; the man was so cold, I got chills. I was glad that Fuse wasn’t going to be at the clubhouse. I don’t think I’m ready to face him yet. I walked out to my car, put the car in drive, tapped down the hurt, and headed out.
