Now I saw in my dream, that they talked more in their sleep at this time than they had ever done in all their journey. As I pondered the reason for this, the Gardener said to me, “Why do you deeply ponder this matter? It is the nature of the fruit of the grapes of these vineyards, ‘to go down so sweetly as to cause the lips of them who are asleep to speak.’” (And thy palate like the best wine that goes into my beloved sweetly and causes the lips of those that are asleep to speak. – Song of Sol. 7:9)

So I saw that when they awoke, they prepared themselves to go up to the city. But, as I said before, the reflection of the sun upon the city which was pure gold (the city was of pure gold, like unto clean glass. – Rev. 21:18) was so extremely glorious that they could not face it directly to look at it as yet. Instead, they viewed it through an instrument made for that purpose. (For now we see as through a mirror, in darkness, but then we shall see face to face. – 1 Cor. 13:12)[1] So I saw that as they went on their way, two Shining Ones met them. They were dressed in clothing that shone like gold and their faces glowed radiantly as light.

[1] Original: Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord – 2 Cor. 3:18.
