Chapter 3 – Techniques For Macro Photography

Anyone who owns a camera will have tried to take close up photographs of flowers and insects because it’s great to be able to use a macro lens and to get such great detail. Some cameras have a built in macro feature and you may not have tried it out to its fullest capacity. It’s great fun because it really does put your photographic skills to the test.

Other cameras have detachable lenses and you can replace the standard lens for a macro lens. These will of course be much more controllable than built in macros which are on a zoom lens because you have more control over the focus of the camera, whereas on a macro extra to a zoom lens, you don’t have that flexibility. You simply get closer to your subject and take the photo when you think that it is in focus.
