Underneath the Juggler

Janet was leaving her apartment when she noticed the tip of a butcher knife sticking through the ceiling. She stared at it for a minute or two, shook her head, and walked out the door.

John woke when he heard something rumbling in his closet. He got out of bed and went over to check it out. Upon opening his closet he saw someone who he had grown accustomed to seeing in strange places.

“Jesus!”

“I can explain.”

“What are You doing here?”

“See I was healing these lepers, said the wrong thing and, poof, here I am.”

“So why don’t You just poof on out of here?”

“Couldn’t stop by without saying hello. After all, I needed to borrow some underwear.”

“What happened to Yours?”

“I’d rather not talk about it. All I can say at this point, due to legal reasons, is, ‘Damn lepers.’”

“Right, well, take what You need and then please, get out of my closet.”

“Righty-o.”

Jesus vanished, John went back to bed, and, in almost no time at all, the alarm clock sounded.
