Sacrament, Spirit, and Women: A Feminist Pentecostal Spirituality

While there are many merits to Tillich’s sacramental spirituality, he falls short of realizing the implications of it for a feminist spirituality. Nonetheless, the potential is there. Below I will employ Tillich’s sacramental spirituality within a feminist pentecostal spirituality. Tillich’s theology offers a feminist pentecostal spirituality a sacramental orientation that enhances and expands several fundamental values as articulated by feminists and Pentecostals. In turn, the feminist pentecostal spirituality that emerges in this chapter advances Tillich’s spirituality to encompass significant feminist concerns that initially he neglected.
