In a way, this was an X-ray version of my life. The exact opposite of where I was but could easily end up if I didn’t pay attention to where I was headed.

There’s nothing wrong with painting houses for a living in Ocean City, Maryland. It just wasn’t—and isn’t—for me. It’s for people like Flammer who (and how do I put this delicately?) might not have been born to become a success on his own.

Flammer, like a lot of people, is just a guy who needs a helping hand to reach a position he might not have been able to reach all by his lonesome.
