Though I do believe that there is one, I keep doing it not for any particular hand-crafted look, but for the simple reason of exercising a rare privilege. I get to live in the twenty-first century but practice a skill leftover from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, itself directly derived from the earliest forms of print communication. With some luck and effort maybe I can find younger somebodies willing and able to receive my knowledge, and keep the skill alive for a little longer. In a world in which capital dictates obsolescence, any practical grasp of that which has been shed by the industry of mass communication seems at least contrarian. And, depending on what one prints, of course, contrarianism can very quickly become resistance.
