CHAPTER 21

This is Lexi

Ridge

I am on such a high watching Brooke as she walks to the bathroom. The clothes she’s holding up to her chest are hiding my almost most favorite spot on her body. Her tits. My number one spot is her ass, and that’s what I’m watching with distraction until she closes the door behind her.

I rush to pick up the used but empty condom along with its wrapper. Looking at it is making me hard again. I throw it all in the trashcan under my desk after wrapping it all up in a couple of tissues I found in one of my drawers.

I then move to put the food on the coffee table that’s to the side of my desk by the couch sitting there. I take the containers out of the bags and place the plastic ware and napkins in between them so that we can start eating as soon as Brooke’s back.

I didn’t realize how hungry for food I was until just now when the smell coming from the containers hits my nostrils.

I realize the door to my office is still closed and locked, so I move that way while waiting for Brooke. The instant I throw the door open, I am met with a not so pleasant surprise.

“Lexi,” I say in dismay. “What are you doing here? And how did you get up here?”

“Tommy downstairs let me up. He remembered me, and assumed it’d be ok…” She sounds unsure and not like herself at all.

“Everything okay?” I feel compelled to ask. I haven’t seen her in the last close to three months now since the disastrous final breakup, and I can’t fathom why she’d want to see me again. She still looks as fit as ever, but just a tad skinnier. She never ate much though, so no surprise there, I guess.

Unless, oh my god, please don’t say it, Lexi.

“Are you pregnant?” I hear myself asking her like I have no filter, all while praying that my suspicions are wrong.

“What? No!” She sounds offended that I even asked, and I sag against the door in obvious relief. “But it’s good to know how you’d react if I were,” she teases.

“I’m sorry, Lex, it’s just…” I run my hand through my hair to push it off my face. I need a haircut. “I’m with someone, and it’s serious, and I…”

“Relax, Ridge, please. That’s not why I’m here at all. I’m here to ask for your help, not cause any drama in your relationship.”

Just then, I hear the door to the bathroom opening, and Brooke walks out with a happy smile on her face. I put that smile there, and I hope this new development won’t wipe it right off.

She frowns as she approaches us cautiously, unsure of what she’s just walked into.

“Brooke, this is Lexi, my, um, my ex girlfriend. Lexi, this is Brooke, my girlfriend. Current, I guess,” I finish talking as I fumble my way through the introductions.

“Fuck, there’s no guessing about it. This is my girlfriend, Brooke.
