THE COMPENSATION SEEMED REASONABLE, right up until the moment when I remembered that my group, or rather crew, was now seven strong instead of four.

I did not know what the interestingly nicknamed, fifty-something dame was planning to do with the shield, but it looked interesting and olde worlde. There was something of the medieval and even the mystical about it. The legend A sharp cock to your throats, beasts! which was embossed at the bottom, added a certain visual magic, and convinced me that any attacking zombie that read it would be impressed. Incidentally, according to the system data visible in the group menu, Sexora the Cat was registered as Klasha, and judging by the old cross-shaped scar on her face, life had been very embittering for her.
