Conclusion

The female nude narrative has run through as many stages as there are women. From the Greeks considering women as not worth sculpting, to goddesses of idealised proportions, and on to extraordinarily strong women and an ultra-athlete. The female nude has come from pretty and passive, to top of her game. The male nude has gone in the opposite direction, from the celebrated posh youth with divine associations to sorry-we-can’t-show-you-this! Is the male genitalia so horrific and shocking that people of a delicate disposition should be shielded from images of it? Spencer Tunic does not think so, as thousands of people queue up to be in his photographs. He uses humans, painted as appropriate, to be the pixels in his pictures.
