Adult male tail. While the central two pairs of feathers (r1 and r2) are green to match the back, the outer three pairs (r3âr5) are black, sometimes with a brownish tinge. The outer rectrix (r5) is narrow and sometimes curved. The tips are blunt on all feathers. Note that the central feathers are shorter than the outer feathers, giving the closed tail a notched appearance.
