The Fourteen Foot Bank Lighthouse is distinguished by its outhouse, which hangs vertically over the edge of the lowest gallery. The lighthouse is located in the lower part of Delaware Bay, on the western side of the shipping canal. When nature called at sea, the lighthouse keeper visited this outhouse.

The Victorian structure, first lit on December 1, 1886, was originally brown. Sometime during the 1930s, the entire cast-iron structure, including the “hip-roof” privy, was painted white with black trim. It remains the same today.
