ANYONE FOR PIMM’S? REPRESENTING ENGLAND we have the Pimm’s Cup, that iconic, oh-so-English drink that, when made properly, should immediately make you feel like you’re lounging around in a lawn chair, wondering aloud to your companions if it will rain, while the more athletically inclined members of your party play cricket. Part fruit salad, part tonic, part cocktail, there’s nothing out there quite like a Pimm’s.

Why is the Pimm’s Cup so perfect for the summer? Well, it uses many aromatic summer garden favorites like strawberries, cucumbers, and mint. The liquor itself plays well with lemonade, another summer favorite. And its relatively low alcohol content means you can knock back a few without getting too drunk in the hot summer sun.

It’s true that a proper Pimm’s cup is about as much prep work as you’d put into a meal, with all the chopping and peeling and whatnot. In my opinion it’s best to cut up enough vegetation at the start of your afternoon so you’re not fiddling with coring strawberries when you’d rather be relaxing into the evening with your fourth or fifth of these delightful concoctions.
