And now, the characters.

Mark Connor – the main character. Just a regular guy, until he isn’t.

Gladys Connor, nee Miller – Mark’s mother, and quite a magician in her own right.

Henry Connor – the man Mark knew as his dad.

Roy Wilkins – Mark’s biological dad.

Robert ‘Bobby’ Lewis – the magician who used trickery to replace Roy as the head of the local Magician’s Association.

John Watkins – friend of Mark’s from the machine shop. Used to drive a road ​ grader for the county.

Jeff Monson – Mark’s boss at the machine shop. He had to fire Mark for failing to have a magician’s license.

Corina – Works as receptionist at the Magician’s Association. Knows Roy from when he used to be the Master Magician.

Charlene – Corina’s sister. Her magic was masked, like Mark’s.

Jimmy – He and Charlene were together, before Master Lewis and his henchman burned out his magic.

John and Sue – Magician Inspectors. Old friends of Roy and Gladys.

Jake – Doorman at the Magic Association.

Denise Connor, nee Williams – Mark’s wife.
