This Mudra should be performed for at least 7 minutes and can be performed for 20 minutes at a stretch.

Technique #5

Breath for Mental Clarity and Peace

Method:

- Sit down in a comfortable cross-legged position (Sukhasan) without slouching and with your back straight.

- Put out your chest, keep your neck straight and look straight ahead.

- Place both your hand on your knee, palms facing down.

- Then start slowly inhaling through both your nostrils. As you are inhaling, chant ‘Om’ in your mind.

- Once you have completely inhaled, without holding the air in start exhaling out slowly

- As you are breathing out, chant ‘Om’ out loudly while you are breathing out.

- Once you have completely exhaled out, do not breath in for another 8-10 seconds and during this time chant ‘Om’ in your mind.

- This completes one practice of this Pranayama. (See to it that you are paying attention to your breath and Om chant while doing this Pranayama)

- Perform 10-12 repetitions.
