How quickly things could change.
The demon had gotten his foot in the door, then heâd blasted that door to bits. There was no going back. His progress was his progress, and she couldnât undo it.
She was still light to his dark, good to his evil, and it would balance out. She wasnât going to go nuts and start torturing humans or killing people for the fun of it. She wasnât going to let him take over. She wasnât going to become evil.
He was justâ¦with her.
Making her better.
That was what she told herself.
She realized in a vague sort of way that it wasnât real or true or good or right.
She ignored that niggling doubt until it went away.
When it was finally time to go home, she dropped Talon and his new companion at his room and sat for a few minutes thinking she should really head to Michaelâs apartment to pick up Maggie.
But in the end, she didnât go to get Maggie. She needed to do something else first.
She drove too fast to her house and jumped from the car almost before it rolled to a stop. She ripped her vest over her head and dropped it to the ground.
She slammed through the door, her heart racing, her body, oh, her body. There were no words. She would calm down eventually. Surely she would. After she got past the newness of her joy. Of her new ability to feel with such ferocity.
âAsa,â she bellowed, unbuckling her weapons belt as she ran through the entryway hall. âAsa!â
He appeared suddenly, his stare sharp, his fingers touching his holstered gun, and then he caught sight of the look on her face. His eyes widened.
She nearly knocked him over as she raced to him and threw herself into his arms. He took a stumbling step backward before he steadied himself and caught her to him. She wrapped her legs and arms around him, her mouth seeking his, because she simply could not wait to taste him.
Asa turned and slammed her against the wall, holding her between it and his big body as he ripped her shirt off her. She kicked off one boot so she could get her leg out of her jeans, and then he was inside her, battering her as hard as she needed him to, and she threw back her head and gasped out his name as his hard hands held her still for his passion, a passion that matchedâor very nearly matchedâher own.
She didnât know what made her open her eyes, maybe a sound, maybe a feeling, but she did open her eyes, and her cry of horror sounded exactly the same as her primal cries of pleasure as she caught sight of her husband standing in the doorway.
Her pleasure ratcheted up to a whole new level, though she wouldnât have thought it possible, and she climaxed violently as she watched Michael watching her.
Asa orgasmed with his mouth buried against her throat, his fingers bruising her flesh, and she thought she felt the violence of his seed shooting hot and deep inside her.
