The exercise: guidance
The objective of the exercise is to generate three very short stories which describe what you do and what problem you are trying to solve in your working life â and to write them very rapidly. This is a way of accessing your subconscious ideas, rather than thinking slowly and carefully about how to write a purpose statement. Your stories will focus on your working life but might also have elements of your private life â because, of course, your work is a part of your life. Donât worry too much about the scope of the story, but tell the story of what you do, whether thatâs paid or unpaid, or both. Hereâs the guidance for the exercise.
