I got the better of Simon Prestigiacomo in the 2003 Grand Final.

Celebrating another goal with Aker in our second grand final win over Collingwood, 27 September 2003.

As we finished our lap of honour, I saw my 13-year-old sister, Gabrielle, hanging over the fence with a big smile on her face. She could hardly believe it when I lifted her over the fence and onto the field. Gabs walked beside me into the rooms. She stood up the back while we belted out our song.

It was in the jubilant moments after the song had ended that my achievements really began to sink in. I was just 22 years old, and had been playing in the AFL for only four years, yet I now had three premiership medals. In all, 16 of us had been part of all three flags. The others were Michael Voss, Jason Akermanis, Marcus Ashcroft, Simon Black, Shaun Hart, Chris Johnson, Clark Keating, Nigel Lappin, Justin Leppitsch, Alastair Lynch, Craig McRae, Mal Michael, Martin Pike, Luke Power and Darryl White. When you add in Pikey’s 1999 flag with North Melbourne, he now had four premierships to his name. What a record.
