Doll face: I bet you wonât pull up.
Drop your location.
As soon as Sophia sent me her location, I smiled. She was out with her girls tipsy as fuck talking big shit. Since our first date a week ago, weâd been spending a lot of our free time together. We hadnât had sex yet, mainly because the shit never really came up. I was enjoying her company, which was rare for me. Most times I didnât really connect with a woman on a deep enough level to find her interesting enough for our relationship to blossom beyond dates and sex, but with Sophia, we could talk about anything and do anything togetherâ¦even if all we did was sit in silenceâ¦and I felt peace.
âAye, nigga,â I called out, causing El to cut the volume on the music down.
âWassup?â
âIâm about to text you this address. Head that way.â
âAight, cooâ.â
As soon as we headed in a different direction, Heiress called El. We were four cars deep riding around the city trying to find something to get into. Going to a lilâ set in the hood had sounded cool as the move for the night, but now that I could see my doll, that was my main priority.
âElliot,â Heiress said as soon as the call connected. She was in the car behind us with Murk, his cousin, and his girl. Murk and Heiress swore beyond him being her enforcer that they were just friends, but I felt like it was more than that. I knew he was in love with my sister, but I also knew he was tired of her shit.
âWassup, Air?â
âWhere you going?â
âShit Iâon know. Some address yo brother had me put in the GPS.â
âRe,â she called out, voice permeating the car through the speakers. âWhatâs the move?â
âIâm âbout to pull up on doll face.â
âShe good?â
âYeah. A lilâ tipsy so she talking big shit.â
Heiress chuckled. âAight, cool. I get to meet her or we dropping you off?â
âYeah, yâall can stay. I probably wonât be there long. I just wanna fuck with her for a few minutes.â
âAight, cool.â
Heiress disconnected the call, and I chuckled when I saw Sophia had sent me the eyes emoji. I wasnât going to text her back so she could be surprised when she saw me. One thing she would learn about meâit wasnât shit for a nigga like me to pull up. It didnât matter what I was doingâ¦if I had to pull up, good or bad, I would.
It took us about fifteen minutes to get downtown. We all found parking spaces on the same street then headed to LiLiâs. As soon as we stepped in, my nostrils were assaulted by the different scents that filled the air. Loud blues being played and sung by the live band set the mood. It didnât take long before my eyes landed on Sophia. She was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth cheesing wide as hell. Her smile was my favorite part of her. It was so bright and wide that her eyes looked closed when she smiled.
