Application: Executing Jum Sau works much like an average punch but you do not strike the opponent. It allows flexibility to move into a variety of poses quickly.

Jut Sau (Jerking Hand)

Most martial art systems utilize a particular technique to speed up their body parts thus building greater power. In Karate students are taught to twist their wrists slightly when executing a punch. Wing-Chun‘s solution is Jut Sau. It is especially effective when working in close quarters. It can join any form of motion that involves a strike. However, it should not be used in punching because if you were to do so incorrectly then there is a significant chance of doing damage to your wrist. For Wing-Chun masters who are able to do so with proficiency, such a punch can be extremely effective.
