Police lights strobed through the sky, sirens roaring, as two cop balls flew down the road toward them. They pulled up behind Siren. Then two more cop balls came around the corner.

Colin was completely surrounded by the police and Siren had him pinned to the ground. Her knee was stretched out of her plastic and leaning against Colin’s shoulder, shoving his face downward.

“This is him,” Siren yelled. “He’s the sicko who killed my Shanya!”

The men in the cop balls reached through tiny gloves on the sides of their bubbles and drew small handguns from holsters attached to the exterior.

“Get away from him,” a cop said to Siren.

Though Siren was in the way, they still aimed their guns at Colin.

“Don’t bother arresting him,” Siren said. “Just kill the son of a bitch.”

Colin wanted to cry. Even though he knew it was a misunderstanding, it hurt to hear his love say she wanted him dead.

“Step back ma’am,” said the cop. “He’s dangerous.”

Siren stepped away from him and said, “He’s such a disgusting pig.”

With her out of the way, the cops came at him. Colin didn’t move. He didn’t want to get shot.

“It’s not me,” Colin told them. “I’m not the killer.”

“Lie down on the ground,” yelled the cops frantically. “Get down! Lie down!”

Their guns were getting shaky as they inched toward him. Colin could tell they were ready to fire at any second.

“Kill him already,” Siren yelled, but the cops bumped her out of the way as if telling her to keep quiet.

“Cover yourself up, you filthy whore,” one of the cops whispered to her in a venomous tone.

“The real killer is behind you,” Colin said. “He went off the street into that ditch.”

“Just shut up and get on the ground now,” yelled a cop, moving forward.

Colin just saw him as a big blue ball with a badge on its front and a tiny hand holding a gun on its side. He decided it would be best to comply. Colin got down on the ground, lying on the bottom of his bubble. His legs curved upward behind him.

“Just look for yourself,” Colin said. “He’s there. He wants to kill her.”

A cop spoke to his dispatcher, reporting that they had the suspect in custody.

“We’re taking him in now,” said the cop.

He pointed his gun back at Colin. The tiny hand sticking out of the bubble was barely able to aim.

“If you’re not going to do it I’ll do it myself,” Siren told the cops.

She went for one of the cops’ guns, trying to grab it through her plastic.

“Stand down,” the cops yelled at Siren.

They turned their guns on her. “Let go of the weapon.”

With their guns pointed at Siren, Colin stood up.

“Don’t you dare hurt her,” Colin yelled.

They turned their guns on Colin.

“Get back on the ground!” a cop yelled.

Siren still struggled to get the gun away from the cop.

“He deserves to die,” she yelled.

She twisted her ball around, slamming into the cop. The gun slipped from his fingers but she couldn’t get a good grip on it herself through the plastic.
