I never thought I’d be so happy to leave a cruise and return to real life. The ride home in the van is very quiet. I guess excessive amounts of food, drinks, and drama can really wear you out.

Tyler attempted to talk to me, but we never had a chance to be alone. I was polite and cheerful, despite being irritated with the Leslie situation. It’s fine, and I’m fine. What Tyler does and with whom is no concern of mine. I don’t even know what time Leslie came back to the cabin, but she was noticeably in a good mood this morning. It might have been an act for my benefit, and kudos to her for trying to keep the façade going. If it was a façade?

As soon as we arrive at Clint’s house, everyone makes a mad dash to exit the van. I quickly grab my suitcase and give Caroline a hug.

“Bye, everyone. It was a blast,” I call.

“I’ll be sending out some last-minute details for the shower,” Erica reminds me.

“Sounds good. I can’t wait.”

I move quickly to my car, which remains nameless as of right now. Of course this will probably change once Tyler decides which name fits its soul.

As soon as I’m safely inside, I pull out of Clint’s driveway, waving at everyone. I look back in my rearview mirror to see Tyler watching me drive away. I let out a sigh.

Admittedly, I’m torn. I can’t deny that I’m physically attracted to Tyler. I’m just not sure that’s enough, especially if he’s also attracted to Leslie.

I plug my phone in and call Parker. She answers on the second ring.

“I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for you to return. Tell me everything.”

“Hello, to you too,” I reply. “You go first. Anything new?”

She sighs. “Unfortunately not, it’s been a quiet weekend. The good news is tomorrow is Monday and I’ll be able to see my man.”

I laugh. “I’m assuming you mean Mr. Brady.”

“Of course,” she exclaims, like I’ve completely lost my mind.

“Did anything happen at the office on Friday?”

I listen as she tells me about Shannon’s latest antics. “She’s been saying things like, ‘When I’m running this office,’ and ‘I’ll do it this way when I’m the director.’”

“We have to prepare ourselves for the possibility,” I remind her. “It could happen.”

“No way. Spencer would never do that.”

I smile to myself. She makes it sound like she knows him so well.

“The job is yours, Tori.”

“Parker, you don’t know that for sure,” I remind her. “I haven’t even spoken with him about it yet.”

“I know, but he’s been observing everyone. He’ll see you’re the best woman for the job.”

I sigh. There’s no point in arguing with her.

“Anyway, why are we talking about work when you should be telling me every detail of the cruise?”

I exhale before I delve into my weekend. I start by telling her about Rachel and Christian.

“Oh no, that’s bad,” she exclaims.

“I know,” I wail. “I’m in a hard spot because I feel bad about not being honest with Caroline, even though it’s not my info to share.
