Chapter Eleven
I woke up alone and had to look around for a bit to get my bearings. I wasnât in my room. When the previous night came back to me, my entire body blushed. I went hot all over. I stretched and felt a bit of discomfort, but not to the point I was going to complain or anything. I got out of bed, found my pants, gathered up my lantern and left for my own room. I needed to wash the smell of sex off me and get fresh clothing.
Joey stepped out of his room, looked me up and down, winked and gave me a sexy grin, and silently headed for the kitchen. I rushed to my own room, since I finally remembered Arnie saying he wanted to leave first thing to get antibiotics from the bunker. How long had I slept? I grabbed a shirt and my boots and headed for the bathroom. I quick wash with a wet cloth and I was dressed and moving quickly for the kitchen. I could hear Arnieâs voice, so maybe I hadnât held him up too long.
I kind of slid and skidded into the kitchen to find Arnie, Sadie, Joey and Rhett sitting at the table. Sadieâs lips quirked upwards and she silently got up to get my breakfast. I wasnât sure what to do with myself now that I was here. No one had gone into âmorning afterâ protocol with me, and if Iâd had a sign on my forehead that read âLuke got laid last nightâ I couldnât have felt more conspicuous. Rhett slid the chair next to him out and patted the seat. I gratefully sat in it, flinched, and settled a little easier. Joey snickered, the little jerk.
âThereâs some ointment in that bunker you might want to grab, too, Arnie,â he said. âIt helps me when Master is a little rough.â
I didnât just blush, I flamed. Sadie put a plate before me and I ducked my head over it, refusing to look at anyone. I didnât even notice what I was eating, just started shoveling food in my mouth. Rhett slid his chair closer to mine and I felt his arm come around my shoulders and a kiss pressed to my cheek.
âDonât pay Joey any mind, Sweetheart. Iâve seen him on days when he couldnât sit, at all.â
That didnât help. Damn! Did everyone know about last night? And did I really just say that out loud? I groaned to myself and hung my head until my chin almost touched my chest. If this was the result, I wasnât sure I ever wanted to have sex again. Laughter around the table made me realize Iâd muttered that out loud, too.
âWeâve all been there, Luke,â Sadie said with a smile. âJim could be an animal in bed. He could flat pound me into the mattress, doesnât surprise me his son can do the same.â
âMom! Eww!â Rhett looked a little green. âStop!â
âJust how do you think you got here, youngâun?
