“As you can see,” B5 said, “the addition of the Mayor has taken up quite the chunk of Influence real estate, a fact mitigated somewhat by Officer Castle’s—“

“I get it, B.”

“Sir,” he said. “May I ask what your plans are for your remaining three slots?”

“It’s not a bad thing to have some open rosters spots,” I said. “A door guard here, lookout there. Even a low-level pedestrian could oil the hinges on a mission gone squeaky at the wrong time.”

“Agreed,” the droid said. “As for the next mission, what did you have in mind?”

“No use dallying any longer than we already have,” I said.

“You mean to meet with Anastasia now that the Mayor is out of her range,” B5 said.

“She’s a patient woman,” I said. “But everyone has limits. If I’m going to infiltrate her operation and see what she’s all about, I’ve got to actually get into it”

“In that case,” B5 said, “I have procured a series of three-dimensional topographical maps of the villain’s usual haunts, along with building schematics for the tower she seems to keep as a primary abode. With your permission, we can go over—“

“Later, B,” I said, waving at the swirling War Town graphics on the monitor. “I said Anastasia was the next mission. I didn’t say we were starting it now.”

“Very well.”

“I’m going to head down to the training area for a little while,” I said. “See what my tiny bump in Brawn and Agility feels like on the bags. I don’t want to be disturbed. That goes for Dour Dork and Dainty Doc as well.”

B5 only stared at me. “Tex and Dr. Hann—“

“Yes, Sir. I understood you.”

“Great.”
