Interview Other People on Your Site

Take advantage of established audiences by interviewing other people who have their own personal brands. Publish these interviews as blog posts on your site.

Make a list of at least 12 relevant people related to your positioning you can interview. I recommend doing this on a spreadsheet. Organize them into four separate tiers of how hard it would be to get them to say yes. Label these “Easy,” “Moderate,” “Hard,” “Reach.” Then add columns for how large you believe their individual audiences to be, their contact info, recent interviews, their own websites, and anyone who can do an introduction for you.

Great interviewees are both believable and have their own audiences. You want guests who can explain what they know to an intelligent lay audience. You also want guests who have followers who, when the guest shares your interview with them, will read it because they follow that guest (Table 4.1).
