I hate mangoes because between the ages of thirteen and fifteen I spent every weekend selling boxes of mangoes at a fruit and veg market.

I’d get picked up at 4 A.M. and we’d drive to a wholesaler to load the van. During the winter it was so cold that it would hurt to grip the corner of the mango boxes.

I’d spend all day selling boxes of mangoes. It cost six pounds for a box, and for every box I sold I got to keep one pound.
