Siphon tube: this is used for transferring the beer from the fermenting bin to either bottles or a barrel. It should be made of clear, food-grade plastic and be long enough to reach from the bottom of the fermenting bin to the bottom of the barrel or bottles when they are in the bottling position. It is a good idea to purchase a tap which fits onto the end of the tube so that you can control the flow if necessary.You can also buy a U-shaped piece of plastic or glass to fit onto the other end of the tube to prevent solids on the bottom of the bin from being sucked up the tube.
