HELIOS’S GOLDEN DRAGON chariot was spacious enough for the three of them to sit inside together, even though it was a little uncomfortable—with the said uncomfortableness referring to the tension between the sorceress and Eros, who had been glaring at each other since they left the house. Speaking of which, she had never seen Cia act this hostile toward anyone before. Maybe she was still angry about yesterday’s poisoning that had caused her tongue to go numb. As for Medea, she had never been pleasant to anyone before, so Hera was not surprised.

When the chariot entered a fog-shrouded mountain range, the air started to get colder. Their surroundings became so blurry that they could not see anything. Medea used a lantern to see the path ahead, but it was still dangerous. “From this point on, it will be better to walk on foot. If I keep driving, I don’t know if I’ll hit the mountain’s peak.”

“How did you manage to fly here through such a thick fog?”

“I usually don’t come here when it’s foggy. We have a period where we can get in and out of the mountain.” Nevertheless, it seemed strange. Even though it was an immortal’s valley, she had never seen such a thick fog before.

While the dragons were slowing down their speed, something suddenly pierced into their bodies. The two dragons wailed. They were thrown to the ground along with the golden chariot and the people sitting in it. Everything happened so fast that no one saw it coming. Hera was flung out of the chariot. She hit the ground with so much force she almost lost consciousness. In her blurred vision, she saw someone’s feet standing in front of her. That person was the woman with eyes as silver as the moon. The goddess of the hunt, Artemis.

“The king of the gods ordered me to bring you back.” That pair of eyes looked down at her. “My apologies if I accidentally acted too violently.”

The apology did not sound like an apology. Hera clenched her teeth angrily. “I’m not going anywhere!”

“You have no choice.” Artemis pulled one of her arms up and tied her wrist with a rough hunting rope. The daughter of Zeus twitched a smile as she looked at the fallen queen. “How long has it been since we last faced each other like this in the Trojan War?”

“You mean that time when you went to Father bawling after you had your ears boxed?”

The goddess of the hunt glared at her sharp-tongued prey. She tied her fair-skinned wrists so tightly that they bruised and hurt to the bones. Hera tried not to cry aloud. The two goddesses were always on rough terms due to their status and character. Having the two of them together was like putting two fires on a haystack and pouring oil on top of it. It was a feud that even the great god Zeus could not interfere with when his wife and his daughter who was born to Goddess Leto clashed.
