Berry Brain Booster

Boost your brain power with this smoothie packed with foods that are good for the mind. Broccoli contributes the B vitamin choline, known for its role in memory and learning. Blueberries and hemp seeds provide antioxidants and omega-3 fats to keep your brain cells healthy. Kick it up a notch with one or more brain-boosting add-ins.

½ cup apple juice

½ cup Greek yogurt

1 cup frozen blueberries

½ cup frozen broccoli

2 tablespoons hemp seeds

1 tablespoon wheat germ

½ to 1 cup ice

Optional Add-Ins:

1 tablespoon walnuts

1 teaspoon coconut oil

½ cup chopped celery

⅛ teaspoon tumeric

Combine all of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve right away.

Add ¼ cup chopped avocado to make your smoothie creamier and to boost the content of monounsaturated fat, a type of fat that can keep brain cell membranes flexible.
