Hayley Aldridge extends a tanned thigh across the length of the loveseat. The Von Dutch logo of Aldridge’s bright white T-shirt is distorted by her abundant chest and her cutoff jean shorts cling to her hips. Aldridge famously stopped wearing orange after a fashion mishap that put her on a worst-dressed list. “I’m sorry we had to do this here,” she says, appraising her trailer on the lot of Mysterious City, her newest project, costarring Jamie Little (Ready Steady). Her voice has a slight Southern accent that has been coaxed away by years of living in Los Angeles, and probably rigorous speech training. After I assured her that it was fine, that the readers would be interested in hearing what she had to say and not where she said it, Aldridge relaxes into her loveseat and her cutoffs ride up her thighs.

One of the first questions I have to ask is if Aldridge realizes the effect she has on people. She doesn’t understand what I mean, and I have to clarify: Does she know that her audience theorizes about her virginity? Aldridge sets the record straight: “My parents raised me to be a good Christian girl,” she says. “I am waiting until marriage to have sex.”

And what does her costar and beau, Jamie Little, have to say about it? Aldridge doesn’t answer.
