Kai
Kai watched, not daring to breathe, as Haven stepped over to the divan and let her robe slip to the floor, revealing tender curves.
She crawled onto it, driving him wild with the movements of her lissome limbs in the tiniest excuse for sleeping attire he had ever seen.
âLie down on your stomach,â he told her.
She lowered herself immediately, setting off something ancient and alpha in him, that gloried in seeing her accept his command. He stalked over to her, drinking in the sight of her prone before him.
A tray of scented oils had been placed beside the divan. Oberon had clearly overheard their wager and prepared everything for Kai.
Taking his time to explore options, Kai could see that his AI wingman hadnât let him down. The bowls had been heated and the fragrances were light and subtle.
âKai,â Haven said softly. Her voice sounded almost anxious.
âPatience,â he crooned, dipping a wand into one of the oils.
He held it over the instep of her left foot, watching a strand of the shimmering liquid slide down to her skin, then drawing a line of oil from her foot up her calf, and the inside of her knee to her thigh.
She hissed in a breath, but held perfectly still.
His blood thundered in his veins.
He replaced the wand, and knelt at her feet, taking her left foot reverently in his hands.
âHow much do you know about Maltaffians?â he asked as he applied his thumbs to the arch of her foot, sliding them in firm circles.
âYouâre strong and fierce, mmmmm,â she groaned softly.
Gods, how was he supposed to get through this without taking her?
âThatâs true,â he told her. âGenetically, weâre stronger and larger than Terrans.â
âAnd you have horns,â she murmured, wiggling her toes as he worked his way up to her ankle.
âWe do,â he told her, wondering if she knew how sensitive they were, how good it would feel when she stroked them with her little hands.
âI guess thatâs it?â she said, whimpering as his thumbs found the muscles of her calf.
âWhat about our mating practices?â he asked. âDo you know about those?â
âSame as Terran?â she guessed.
It was a fair guess. If the physical act wasnât similar, he wouldnât be able to impregnate her.
âTechnically yes,â he told her, sliding his hands past her knee and working her thigh.
It was hard not to let his thumb slip under her shorts to feel the heat of her, but this talk had to happen first.
He was practically shaking with the effort not to taste her. He could literally scent the tangy sweetness of her.
âWhat do you mean technically?â Her voice was higher and breathy now, as if she could read his thoughts, feel what he wanted to do.
He teased her a little longer, brushing his thumbs closer and closer to heaven as he massaged her.
She was perfectly still now, maybe even holding her breath.
But instead of giving her what they both wanted, he removed his hands and used the wand to trace a line of oil from her right foot up her right thigh.
