Peel and slice the banana. Peel the mango, remove the stone and cut the flesh into even-sized pieces.
Put the banana and mango in a food processor or blender, add the orange juice, milk and fromage frais and process until smooth.
Pour the smoothie into 2 glasses over ice, if using, and serve immediately.
For banana & avocado smoothie, process 1 small ripe banana with 1 small ripe avocado and 250 ml (8 fl oz) skimmed milk.

2.5 cm (1 inch) piece fresh root ginger
100 g (3½ oz) fig, plus extra to serve (optional)
1 orange
250 g (8 oz) carrot
100 g (3½ oz) banana
