My advice on this is to alternate your smoothies between raw and cooked or mix cooked and raw vegetables in your smoothies. This ensures you are getting all the available vitamins and minerals in today’s vegetables. Just cook your vegetables until soft and pop in the NutriBullet. Limit the amount of water, and if you use onions and carrots, you can avoid fruit altogether sometimes to get a truly warming winter smoothie.

BLUE BANANA GREEN SMOOTHIE

1 FROZEN BANANA (RIPE)

A HANDFUL OF BLUEBERRIES

1 INCH OF CUCUMBER

A HANDFUL OF BABY SPINACH

1 TSP OR LESS OF HONEY

ICE

ALMOND MILK

OPTIONAL EXTRAS:

A HANDFUL OF WATERCRESS

1. Just throw all ingredients into the blender and starting low, blend well. Add a couple of ice cubes and turn up the blender.

2. Your smoothie will be crunchier if you are using almonds and water instead of almond milk.
