3.5.5 The Perspective Clone Tool

To introduce a new image element into an image with the correct perspective, GIMP originally had only the transformation tools, such as the Perspective tool. Since GIMP 2.4, the program has offered the additional choice of the Perspective Clone tool to copy sections from an image with the help of a clone tool. These sections can then be placed into another image in the correct perspective.

The intended use of this tool is to cover up trouble spots in digital photography with image content or to insert new image content in the correct perspective.
