The unfortunate thing about going to the S’rall homeworld is that it was in the 61 Cygni system. The planet called Adoration was also located here, which is where we’d finally run down Helem Gauss and where Zenophir had died. The system held painful memories for everyone, except Gabby, and Funboy had filled her in on the details.

For that reason, I quietly asked Netty-P to take us in through a twist point that was on the opposite side of the system from Adoration’s present location in its orbit. That added nearly another full day to our transit time from the twist point to the S’rall homeworld, but that was fine. It kept Adoration from being anything more than an icon on the edge of the display. It also offered our would-be assassins more time to digest our itinerary.

Unfortunately, it also meant that we had to deal with the S’rall, who could be pleasant. . .
