The game ended with the Bears winning 46–10, setting a new NFL record for margin of victory. The Bears also set or tied Super Bowl records for sacks (7) and fewest rushing yards allowed (7).

The team had many notables. Ditka was named NFL Coach of the Year by AP, Sporting News, and UPI. Mike Singletary was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
