gray junglefowl

PENINSULAR INDIA

gallus sonneratii

If it weren’t for its remarkable gold and black crest, the Gray Jungle-fowl would look very much like a common farm Chicken. Its colorful crest is made up of a collection of paper-thin feathers laid on top of one another.

northern fulmar

ARCTIC CIRCLE

fulmarus glacialis

The Northern Fulmar is a stalwart inhabitant of the colder reaches of Earth. With sharp wings for faster flight, thick flight muscles, and waxen wings that repel water, the bird is well suited to its inhabitable environment. The Northern Fulmar also has the ability to spit a wax-ester solution on avian predators, matting their plumage and causing them to lose flight efficacy.
