At the end of the day, there is only so much you can do about crosswinds. Just as with headwinds, they have more of an influence on the rider than the bike. You can’t redesign yourself to deal with crosswinds better, but avoiding equipment choices that complicate matters will help you keep the bike rubber-side down, and that’s always a surefire means of improving your time. Be aware of how products account for crosswinds in their design parameters, but don’t let yourself get carried away by overzealous advertising.
