CONCLUSIONS

This chapter has drawn on a bit longer than we had hoped. However, we hope we have convinced you that our multi-age, looping, classroom generalist model, when coupled with small school and district size, correlate nicely with the parameters established by the National Forum to become a School To Watch.

If all middle schools were on a trajectory to become a STW, imagine what it would mean for all of their feeder high schools. We think that our model will lead to excellence. We do say lead to excellence because the work we advocate for in the middle school will be wasted unless reforms are initiated at that level as well. We will share our opinions about high school reform in the next chapter.
