Technology is everywhere in Taylor County Schools. In addition to the workstations in the virtual academy, every student is allowed to bring their own device (BYOD). Cell phones can be used. And Cook eventually wants to make sure every student has a tablet or laptop. Currently high school students have Lenovo Yoga’s. This is a small laptop with a detachable touchscreen display. The fourth through eighth grades have iPads. Many of the kindergarten through third grades have some devices in their classroom, but they are not yet at one-to-one. Every teacher has been provided with a desktop computer and an iPad at the elementary and middle schools and a Yoga at the high school.
